The capital A in the narrator's font bugs me. I've altered it to look more like an A, but it's still pretty wonky. Why couldn't the font designers of the Middle Ages have consulted with me before making their calligraphy?

Depending on how much Samuel Clemens you read, it might very well be that you're only dreaming this entire thing and all the rest of us are simply your own imagination trying to occupy you during your eternity alone.

Or wait... No, it's MY imagination and YOU don't exist!

I say the land was there but under the water and the waters receded. Evaporation due to not having an atmosphere will do that.

The ancient Greeks had the idea of solipsism over two millenniums before Clemens was born. It's an clever thought, but I find solipsism leaves a bad taste in my... mind.

Indeed. It's really kind of weak even for a thought experiment, but Clemens' writing makes even the most simplistic ideas come alive. I, personally, don't really feel that about the ancients. Could be that most of them weren't anarchists.
