Our next book is Numbers, which is probably the most boring book in the bible as it consists of the results of a huge census. But donít worry, Iím not going to individually illustrate every single person from every single tribe. That would truly be Hell! However, before I start writing about the moral implications of Israelites being forced to ďdonateĒ their valuables to priests God, I need a break from the soul-crushing task of dissecting Leviticus. Iíll see everyone back here in a few months.

Again, thanks for reading and commenting. It really means a lot to me that youíve all stuck with me on this project for all these years!

--MONTHS?? *shrieks, cowers in a corner, rocks & mumbles to herself*

Ladyofthemasque writes:

(It's the plural that has me wibbling, not the "take 30-31 days off" bit, lol, but rather a sense of "take 60-90 days off"...)

Baughbe writes:

Oh.... Well OK, Just don't take as long to come back as my last product rebate did....

TheAlmightyGuru writes:

Don't worry Lady, I've always taken a few months off, but came back in full swing! I just have a hard time devoting so much time to a book that I completely disagree with. It's like watch Rush Limbaugh non-stop for a year!

HiroOdan writes:

Yes, fill yor heart with rage! Let the power flow through you! When you feel this power, you'll know it will be time for a vaction.

Good luck!

Ladyofthemasque writes:

XD HiroOdan you crack me up...

And yes, TAG, I know...I know. I *have* read the entire Bible cover-to-cover. I do know...

On the bright side, Numbers should go fast, eh? And then Deuteronomy, where stuff actually happens* again. (*Plot, continuity, character development, good morals, or even coherent writing are not guaranteed. Do not read Deuteronomy while operating heavy machinery. Do not read Deuteronomy while trying to espouse true morality. Deuteronomy is not for some people. Ask your doctor what that thing is on your leg. Some restrictions may apply.)

Hey, TAG, can we share our other favorite webcomics while you're on vacation? Need something to fill the void, after all...

HIroOdan writes:

I'm gland I can amuse you Ladyofthemarque.

Dear TAG,
Please feel better.
HiroOdan

That is all.

TheAlmightyGuru writes:

Of course. My favorites include:

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal
Cyanide and Happiness
XKCD
Order of the Stick
Idiot Box

Honorable mention to Queen of Wands, which has long since been completed.

HiroOdan writes:

Mine are:

Questionable Content
Elgoonish Shive
Something Positive
Super Normal Step
Fancy Adventures of Jack Cannon
The Blasphemers Bible

Of course not in any particular order. :)

I realize I'm late to the party of recommending web comics (and it looks like I have a few months to catch up on this comic), but Looking for Group and Sandra and Woo are two more good ones to look up.

Ladyofthemasque writes:

I read so many, I had to create bookmark sub-folders for each day of the week that a comic appears, and an eighth folder for "posts randomly" (plus a folder for giving webcomics a trial run).

Given that some of them are mildly, occasionally, or just flat-out Not Safe For Work, whether it's for cheesecake shots, adult topics either discussed in the comic itself or in the creators' blogs, or for depictions of violence or whatever, I shall use the following tagging system:

*=mildly or at least very rarely NSFW
**=moderately or occasionally NSWF
***=just read it at home or on a private, personally owned machine; it's safer that way. Oh, and be 18+, too.

Schlock Mercenary*
Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic**
Surviving The World
Two Lumps
Questionable Content*
Grrl Power*
Love and Capes
xkcd
Failure to Fire*
Too Much Information**
Girls With Slingshots*
Something*Positive (it comes with its own * rating built-in)
Erstwhile
Odori Park
Supernormal Step*
Devilbear*
A Girl And Her Fed*
The Dreamland Chronicles
Gyreworld* (This one is a short-chapter serial story, but still quite engaging)
Savage Chickens
Wapsi Square*
Not A Villain
Goblins**
Fried Chicken & Sushi
Tamuran
Legend of Bill
Flaky Pastry*
The Non-Adventures of Wonderella
The Blasphemer's Bible***
The Challenges of Zona*
Erfworld*
Order of the Stick
Scenes from a Multiverse*

...There are a few others, but some are syndicated (9 Chickweed Lane, for example) or I'm meh about sharing them, or there's that one that's even more NSFW than TBB.

TheAlmightyGuru writes:

Much thanks to HiroOdan and Ladyofthemasque. Three asterisks FTW!

Ladyofthemasque writes:

Hey, the only other one that I'd stick *** is literally called "Not Safe For Work" ...i.e. NSFW-Comix. (If you decide to search for it, don't blame me at the explicitness of it; you're the one choosing to search!)

Belg writes:

I'll ad my two cents of comics to read:

Flase Positive
Basic Instructions
Gone With the Blastwave
XKCD
Order of the Stick
The Blasphemer's Bible

HiroOdan writes:

You're welcome! Please come back soon. I just heard a speech from a hall of fame football player refer to the bible as something to get inspired from by reading. Damn work and their love for espn.

HiroOdan writes:

Wait The Blasphemer's Bible got a ***? Oops I read it on my employer's comp all the time. Remember kids, eat/clean all of your cookies. OM NOM

Belg writes:

Just wanted to point out small factuall error in your blog post today (13.08.06): Switzerland is in no way a Scandinavian nation... But still yay for Switzerland!!!!

Baughbe writes:

I read Blasphemer's Bible at work. What I do during my lunch break is my business, and if they want to give me shit about a religious commentary site I'll be very very happy to take them to court. I have to put up with three preachers and a bevy of 'church ladies' in the office so any form of refusing me to have my own viewpoint will be met most vigorously.

Ladyofthemasque writes:

Good for you, Baughbe. As a card-carrying minister (yes, I actually am one; no, I'm not going to tell you what my beliefs are; it's against my religion to proselytize...XD) I approve.

If they don't realize what is actually IN the Bible, and refuse to see how horrific many parts of it are, then that's their problem.

Baughbe writes:

*bakes the spam into a pie and feeds it to the darkness* Silly spammers, the internet is for adults.

TheAlmightyGuru writes:

@HiroOdan: The humor comes when you read him the part about it being evil to touch a pig's skin.

@Belg: Thanks for that! And thanks for letting me know that people actually read my posts! :-D

@Baughbe: Heaven forbid they actually challenge the beliefs of their parents!

HiroOdan writes:

I'm almost tempted to "Guest" art for you comic TAG. :D Just need incentive. Like maybe a cake, or cookies. :D

HiroOdan writes:

By "Guest" art, I mean the comic's art, if you need help. I love what you've done here, and I am in a helpful mood. I'd point you in the direction of my art, but I shall not spam your comments.

TheAlmightyGuru writes:

HiroOdan: I'll be starting up again on Monday, September 30th. Can you send me a link to your art? thealmightyguru@gmail.com

HiroOdan writes:

Sent and I can't wait for your reply. :)
